Adventure Storytelling Series #6 - Trails
This collaborative community event is co-hosted by Roadrunner Bicycles, Campfire Cycling, Sonoran Desert Mountain Bicyclists (SDMB), Climbing in Color (CIC), and more participating local non-profits.
The Sonoran Desert and greater Arizona are beautiful, rugged, and culturally diverse landscapes. Stories emerge from every saguaro, lie in every wash, under every rock and around every corner.
Come join us on May 27th at 6:00 PM at Borderlands Brewing, 119 E Toole Ave. Tucson, AZ 85701 and listen to storytellers from local non-profits spin epic yarns of their experiences exploring, discovering, and navigating this incredible landscape.
The event is $5 and all proceeds will go to the non-profits participating in the event.

Sonoran Desert Mountain Bicyclists is a volunteer-driven 501(c)(3) non-profit organization devoted to the promotion of the sport of mountain bicycling, and view the sport as a vehicle to promote low impact outdoor recreation, conservation, and mountain bicycling opportunities that are environmentally and socially responsible. SDMB is dedicated to protecting and enhancing mountain bicycling opportunities through intersectional programing.
Climbing in Color's mission is to elevate the voices of climbers of color and build a community of camaraderie and support. We are currently based in Tucson, Arizona, but our expansive Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) climbing community extends well beyond this region.
Bicycle Inter Community Art and Salvage (BICAS) is a worker self-directed nonprofit 501(c)(3) bicycle center located just north of downtown Tucson. Relying largely on generous donations from our community, and responsible stewardship of those donations, BICAS is able to provide a variety of programs to learn how to fix a bicycle, earn a bicycle, create unique art from recycled materials, and provide programs specifically targeted towards youth. We believe in bicycles and other human-powered machines as essential vehicles for transportation justice, and we are always striving to make them more accessible to our community. We are an education center, not a traditional bike shop.
Tucson Bird Alliance inspires people to enjoy and protect birds through recreation, education, conservation, and restoration of the environment upon which we all depend.

This event's theme is "Trails." Adventures near and far always begin by taking one step after the other.
The event is also meant to bring awareness to the unfortunate eviction notice of Borderlands Brewing from the historic and current location.

CIC x GMG | Outdoor Climbing on Lemmon
Join CIC for an Introduction to Outdoor Climbing Trip!
On April 26th, we will meet in the morning at the parking area at Le Buzz and then head up the mountain to climb at the crag(s). All skill levels are welcome!
Granite Mountain Guides will provide instruction at the crag for those new to outdoor climbing, as well as any equipment that you may need.
Only $35/person for guided instruction and equipment rental. Please note that helmets will be required for climbing and belaying.
CIC is subsidizing the cost of the Guides for the day!

Outdoor Climbing | Mt Lemmon Half Day
Join us for Climbing in Color’s half day of outdoor climbing on Mt Lemmon with Granite Mountain Guides!
On Saturday, May 18th, we will meet in the morning at 9 am at Le Buzz on Tanque Verde Rd, at the base of Mt Lemmon, before heading up the mountain.
This half day clinic is meant to introduce new or returning climbers to outdoor rock climbing before our big climbing and camping trip to Red Rocks this November.
Granite Mountain Guides (@granitemountainguides) will provide instruction at Mt Lemmon. Space is very limited.

Outdoor Meetup | Cochise Stronghold 2023
Join us for Climbing in Color’s Outdoor Meetup at Sweet Rock!
We are so excited to see you at our yearly outdoor event! Join CIC for our outdoor climbing and camping trip in Cochise Stronghold! On Saturday October 7th, we will meet in the morning at 9 a.m. at Sweet Rock crag. All skill levels are welcome!
Granite Mountain Guides will provide instruction at Sweet Rock. Then, in the evening, we will head to our campground for more fun!
What/When/Where:
October 7th from 9am to 5 pm, climbing at Sweet Rock in Cochise Stronghold. For those interested, we will be setting up camp in the evening, once we are done climbing. There are plenty of camping spots available, and we will find one for the entire group.
Admission:
$25/person for guided instruction (includes equipment rental for those that need it). CIC is subsidizing the cost of the instructor!

Please also RSVP at the link below with the following information: names of people attending, whether you will be camping, if you’re interested in carpooling (and if you have a vehicle available), and whether you need any equipment for camping or anything else.
